Gorgeous Yoga Mandala Wood Journal in Mahogany & Black Walnut

Real wood mandala journal-planner in mahogany and black walnut

Mandala is a Sanskrit term meaning “circle”.

But a mandala is far more than a simple circle. It represents wholeness, and can be viewed as a model for the organizational structure of life itself--a cosmic diagram that reminds us of our relation to the infinite, the world that extends both beyond and within our bodies and minds.
Mandalas are objects of devotion in Tantric Hindu and in Tantric Buddhism. They can be painted on paper, wood, stone, cloth or even on a wall. In some traditions like Tibetan Buddhism, the role of mandalas is so strong that it could become an architectural structure and even whole temples may be built as giant mandalas.
We laser engraved this mandala into two types of wood veneer and inlay-ed them together. Of course a mandala needs to be a full circle; the other half is engraved and inlayed on the back of the journal. The effect is stunning and subtle at the same time.

AUM Phone Case

Its significance extends far beyond the yoga class. Om, or "Aum", appears throughout in the founding philosophical texts of Hinduism and represents the most important mantra for worship. Om's sound and symbol illustrate unity between the "three worlds" in Hinduism: earth, heaven, and atmosphere (among other trilogies found throughout Hinduism). The design for Om's symbol is sacred; each curve, dot, and stroke symbolizes a key component of the mind. The bottom-most curve on the left reflects the waking mind, the curves above that illustrate the mind in deep sleep, the curve to the far right reflects the dreaming mind, and the dot represents the fourth, unknown state of consciousness, which is so far from the human experience that it must be separated by the semicircle you see beneath the dot. Altogether, Om is the sum of all four states of consciousness.

Ganesha Phone Case

The chubby, gentle, wise, elephant-headed Ganesh, or Ganesha, is one of Hinduisms most popular deities. Ganesh is the remover of obstacles, the deity whom worshipers first acknowledge when they visit a temple. Statues of Ganesh can be found in most Indian towns. His image is placed where new houses are to be built; he is honored at the start of a journey or business venture, and poets traditionally invoke him at the start of a book.
Ganesh is also patron of letters and of learning; he is the legendary scribe who, using his commonly held broken tusk, wrote down parts of the Mahabharata Epic. Ganesh is usually depicted colored red; he is pot bellied, has one tusk broken, and has four arms that may hold a noose called a pasam, an elephant goad, and a pot of rice, or his favorite sweets, laddus. His appetite for these sweets is legendary and offerings of them are often left at his shrine.
