How to Get To Yellowstone National Park

Getting to Yellowstone National Park involves several transportation options depending on your starting point:

1. By Air: The nearest major airports to Yellowstone are located in cities such as Bozeman, Montana (Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport - BZN), Jackson, Wyoming (Jackson Hole Airport - JAC), and Cody, Wyoming (Yellowstone Regional Airport - COD). From these airports, you can rent a car and drive to the park. Bozeman is the most commonly used airport, located about 90 miles north of the park's North Entrance.

2. By Car: Driving is the most common way to reach Yellowstone National Park. The park has five entrance gates: North Entrance (Gardiner, Montana), West Entrance (West Yellowstone, Montana), East Entrance (near Cody, Wyoming), South Entrance (near Jackson, Wyoming), and Northeast Entrance (near Cooke City, Montana). The park is well-connected to major highways such as US Highway 191, US Highway 20, and US Highway 89.

3. By Bus: Some tour companies offer guided bus tours to Yellowstone National Park from nearby cities and towns. These tours typically include transportation to and from the park, as well as guided activities and sightseeing opportunities. If you prefer not to drive yourself, joining a guided bus tour can be a convenient way to explore the park.

4. By Train: There are no direct train services to Yellowstone National Park, but you can take an Amtrak train to nearby towns such as West Yellowstone or Gardiner and then arrange for local transportation to the park. The closest Amtrak stations to Yellowstone are located in towns such as Livingston, Montana, and Idaho Falls, Idaho.
